Michael's Graduation

This past Wednesday Michael graduated and received his degree in Theology... He also received the 4th year award for the most outstanding final years student , awarded for academic achievement, character and service to the college... I am so proud of him!... He also gave a great speech and handed over to next year's SRC president... So, Michael's studies at BTC are now officially over and we look forward to our future of serving the Lord in a more full time capacity...

Okay Dada focus, you can do this...
 Let me pray for you...
 Kisses!!!...

 This is Nicole, Jono's cousin...

End of Year Dinner and Farewell

We had our church end of year dinner on the 26th November which was combined with a farewell for us... As I'm sure all of you know we will be moving down to Pietermaritzburg to follow God's call on us, and more speciffically Michael as Youth Pastor to minister at Scottsville Baptist Church next year... It was such an amazing time with the church family even though many tears were shed... Krugersdorp Baptist Church has been our home and family in Christ for many years and we would like to thank you all for the tremendous blessing you have been to us as a family and for all the support you have shown to us... We are going to miss all of you greatly!...

 This is the dessert face...

Krugersdorp Family Fellowship Braai

We recently had the first of many (hopefully) church family fellowship braais... It was great fun to spend some extra time with the church family getting to know one another better and just having loads of fun...
 Is this sunscreen safe???

Just Jono

Well, I have been meaning to post pics for such a long time now that they have just been building up, so the next few posts are gonna be a catch up... This one is all about my gorgeous son Jono... We let Jono have his first swim on the 9th November... At first he cried and clung to me very tightly, but after a while he loosened up and now really enjoys the water... Even when it's too cold for me...
In the pool with my favourite toy- A bath thermometer

Just floating in the water- with my dada of course...
Check out my super cool super hero swimming costume...

Another new favourite thing of Jono's is to drink fruit juice from the box with a straw... He even enjoys to try and hold it himself... That does get messy though, when he realises that he can squeeze it... He has also drank water from a cup with a long straw, and discovered how to blow bubbles through the straw...

What, You didn't think I could drink this juice all on my own???

While I was preparing the bath for Jono the other day, I turned around and found him waiting in the basin for me... Needless to say he discovered the toothbrushes and toothpaste and gave us an advert for the cutest Colgate smile- without any teeth though...

David and Goliath

Michael and Jono enjoyed spending some father-son time showing off their strength... Kind of reminded me of David and Goliath...This is Michael conquering Jono...

 Jono's reaction...
 And Jono conquering his daddy...

Hide and seek

These are some photos of one of Jono's hiding places... Yip, Jono loves to play hide and seek with mommy, of course he needs his daddy's help to hide though. I have often come home or gone to fetch something one a different side of the house and come back to find Jono hiding... I can call him and try to get him to make noises but most of the time he just sits there quiet and still and then has a huge smile when I find him...

Granny and grandpa's birthdays

It was Michael's mom's birthday recently and we decided to buy her some slippers, but not just the regular kind, the cute puffy character kind... This was to remind her of Jono and so that Jono could play with them whenever he visits...

For Grandpa's birthday which is tommorrow we bought him a dvd and wrapped it in one of Jono's nappies and put it in a nappy bag and gave it to him yesterday... We also gave him some mountain dew and a lunch bar in a potty that is shapped like a mini toilet from all his grandkids... Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera so I don't have any pics...

Baby photo competition

We recently entered Jono into a baby photo competition, and this is the photo that we entered... The photos were taken in a shopping center, so we struggled to get him to smile because he was just looking around at everything... But we got some very cute photos anyway... The judging is this Saturday so and I'm sure Jono is the cutest baby by far so he should do well...

Jono

Jonathan has to be the youngest child I know that can operate a computer...

Actually Jonathan often likes to just sit on Michael's lap while he is on the computer... I don't really know of it's the lights, sounds or what that he finds so fascinating, but I think he just enjoys spending time with his daddy most of all...

This is just a cute pic of some father and son bonding time... Very cute...
Jono has started to eat some solid food... I can't believe how quickly time flies...

He is also rolling over all on his own now and sits unsupported for short periods of time... His all time favourite activity continues to be bath time though and his favourite toys (although its not really a toy) are books...

Evangelical and reformed conference

We went along with Michael's parents to the evangelical and reformed conference at Skogheim at the beginning of the month... Unfortunately I got sick on the way down and spent most of our time down there in hospital... It was a difficult time for both Michael and I, but it was such a blessing to be with the family of Christ to support us... The camp organised an MP3 player with some of the messages for me to listen to while I was still in hospital which was such a blessing... The messages were definietly a word in season and helped us to reflect on what Christ did for us on the cross... I look forward to going again in the years to come...

A blessed 60 years

I thank God that we could celebrate my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary with them yesterday... What a blessing it is to have such an example!... We had such a great time with them and the rest of the crazy family...

This picture was taken last week friday, but I thought I would include it so you could see my grandparents and us together...

Andrew and Sandhya's Wedding

Last Saturday we were privileged to attend Michael's cousin Andrew's wedding... Andrew met Sandhya in India and they fell in love quoting scripture to one another... Michael was the best man and so he was dressed in an Indian outfit...I originally thought this might look a bit strange but I must say it really looked good on him... It was such a blessing to see how God joined together 2 people from different continents and made them one... Unfortunately I didn't get a photo af the bride and groom, but I did manage to get a few others...

Jono's bumbo

We were blessed to be given a bumbo for Jono, which he has only started to use recently because he can hold up his own head for longer periods of time now... He loves to play in it, as you can see...

 Lastly just a cute pic...

Nicole Burns

It was so great to be able to meet our niece, Nicole, born on the 9th May weighing 3.38kg... I also realised that Jono also used to be that small, and even a bit smaller... Wow how fast time has gone and how big he has gotten!... Anyway, this is the adorable Nicole...

Jono was particularly shocked to find out that he had another cousin...
