Drakensberg holiday

We were blessed to be able to join my parents and oma on a holiday in the Drakensberg at Champagne Sports Resort... It was a nice time to rest and to spend time as a family... Michael and I both had early mornings with Jonathan sleeping on our chests but Jonathan continues to be a great blessing to us as we watch him grow bigger each day...

Other activities included walks, playing pool, going out for lunch, playing tennis, playing wii, sleeping and just chatting... My dad and I also attended a photography session so I was playing around alot with my camera and with all the fancy settings I never knew were there... So here are some of the nice ones...

 My gorgeous boys...

The last photo is one of Michael copying Jonathan in his typical habit of lifting his one hand up in the air... Very cute...

Jonathan Jaden Calvin Lear

Our precious little baby boy Jonathan Jaden Calvin Lear was born on the evening of the 17th March weighing 3,14kg and measured 51cm... Even though the day was long and difficult, we praise God for His ever present Spirit at work in our lives and family... Our son is truly a precious gift from a God who hears our prayers... I will be posting a few pics soon so keep an eye out for them...

Baby Lear is on its way

Today we had our last doctors appointment and scan, and baby is doing well and is in the right position for birth... Now its just a matter of waiting out the last few days until baby is born... During the scan we saw baby blinking its eyes and opening its eyes to try and see whatever it could... Very cute... In the scan below the arrow is pointing to baby's open eye...

Graduation

I finally graduated on the 12th of Feb, and I must say it was quite a relief to finally be done with my studies at Monash... The ceremony was nice and short compared to what bigger universities would have been, and then we went out for a nice lunch to celebrate my graduation and my mom's birthday... Baby also seemed to enjoy itself very much and did its best to push my tummy out as far as it could so that everyone could see that it was there which I'm sure you can see in the first photo... All the photos below are the professional photos that were taken on the day...

Baby shower

Our precious little baby soon to be born was really blessed with many gifts by family and friends on the 22nd of last month... My mom, the proud granny, planned a wonderful time with beautiful decorations, fun games, and fellowship... Thank you mom for all your hard work, and thank you to all those that also helped organise the day and for all those that could make it... It was such a special day...

The second last picture was the wishing tree... Everyone could write a note of encouragement or advice on a card and hang it on the tree... And the last picture was the center piece on the food table...

The first game was a purity tasting game... Aunty Rosie, Natasha, Carmen and Jackie Louw were the participants... I was the judge in the games... After tasting sweet potatoe, butternut, guava and yoghurt, and chicken and pap purity, Carmen emerged the winner...

The second game was a playdough baby making competition... Meagan Henning was the winner of this game, and here is a picture of her adorable baby... And then a picture of some of the other cute babies...

Kruger Park Lodge

Last year's holiday to Kruger Park Lodge was a really fun time to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature...

And I just loved being able to see my favorite flower, the frangapani, again... And this time I got to bring my own frangapani tree home... Thanks Cynthia...

And it was also good to be able to spend time with the family... It was especially great to see my cousin from Australia- Dudley...
Michael, my dad an Cynthia went on a quick ride down the river just outside our chalet, which was great fun but really tiring and hot... Of course I could only watch but I enjoyed taking photos of them just before they went under the lapa...

Then Dudley, Clinton, Michael and Cynthia decided to go an a much longer river rafting experience, which also proved to be great fun for them... One thing they didn't know until after the rafting was finished was that there was a crocodile spotted on the path that they took... Scary...

Another regular visitor was this little bird who found his own reflection to be the most fascinating thing around, and so every day you would find him flying madly up and down Stevens car pecking at his reflection...

All in all the holiday was lots of fun, and Michael and I were really blessed to be able to go with the family...
